Three Word Gallery

Tara has asked us to post around a  Three Word theme for The Gallery. Hmmm, I found this tricky so I turned to pictures of Kaiya. There is always inspiration there.

She will literally sleep anywhere. I have witnessed her fall off so many couches, chairs and beds because if there isn't space for her, she'll try make room. She prefers to have some sort of cushion for her head whether it's an actual cushion, your knee or our other dog Ruby. If hubby and I are on the couch she won't go and curl up in in luxurious and empty dog bed or the empty couch. No, she squeezes herself between us, just because she can.

So my three word gallery is . . .

She Sleeps Anywhere

Body in, head out

It's really her bed, she just lets us sleep in it.

She has on occasion shut her eyes in this position

Using my pregnant bump as her cushion

Using Ruby as her cushion

She pretends to cuddle you then makes you so uncomfortable that you move and she gets your seat!

Camping - she slept inside the sleeping bag, not on the floor.

Her favourite cushion

I love it when she cuddles me when I'm sleeping

Daddy Cool

The Gallery theme this week is Dad's. We went to visit my Dad in Czech Republic in April and these photos were taken of Hubby and JC in the garden.

JC - being a good Dad is someone who

gives me tummy tickles, raspberry belly, wipes my nose, encourages me to crawl, supports me to walk, brings me my toys in the morning, dances with me to Disney songs, throws me high in the air (and never drops me), makes the best Chicken Stir Fry ever, makes the most delicious pancakes ever and reads stories with the coolest voices (almost as good as my mum).

Steven - being a good Dad is

scary, exciting, emotional, fun, full of joy, full of worry, a huge responsibility, cuts into XBox time, getting to be a kid all over again, a challenge at times, hugely rewarding, tiring but the best job in the world.

April - Phew!

The theme in the Gallery this week is April. We had a pretty busy time of it this April hence the blog silence recently so here are some of my favourite snaps from the past month  . . .

My Birthday - I spent the day with family as my hubby was away to the Gadget Show in Birmingham. My Mum and Step Dad made me this delicious cake! If you look closely, the pink flower at the bottom is missing a petal. An eyewitness claimed to see JC eat but there was insufficient evidence to bring charges!

JC's first holiday - Brno, Czech Republic to visit my Dad. We spent lots of time chilling in the sunny garden and visiting the park. The weather was beautiful and JC was very well behaved. The Grumpinator did come come at night a few times but was kept at bay on the plane which was my main worry!

I love this picture of my two boys.

JC's first visit to Brno Zoo. He loved the tigers and bears.

Alana's Hen Weekend - My good friend Alana is getting married in a few weeks. I had a lovely time at her Hen weekend. The Friday night was a twilight themed night full of games and 'organised fun'. The Saturday was a Hawaiian theme with cocktails in the garden, hot tub fun and out for a lovely Italian meal at night.

My lovely friend Jemma took me out for a spa day at The Scotsman hotel in Edinburgh as a birthday treat. My had a relaxing morning in the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and pool. Finished off the morning with a manicure and some bubbly.

After the spa morning we went to Hotel Du Vin for a fabulous afternoon tea. The cakes were delicious and the whole spread was so filling that we had to take home a doggy bag as we couldn't finish it!

What a wonderfully busy and exciting April!

Green Green Grass of Home

The theme in the Gallery this week is Green. There is nobody who loves the green grass of spring more than my dog Ruby. She can often be found sunbathing on it or catching some shade if it's too hot. She loves to roll around on it and look a bit demented. Here are a few photos of her loving the grass . . .

The Gallery - Tomorrow

I really struggled with this theme this week. How do you take a photo of something that hasn't happened yet. How do you encapsulate tomorrow? Well this is my take on it . . .

JC is now in the age of discovery. He wants to touch, taste and see everything. I took him to the park on Sunday and rather than just putting him on the swings as usual, we took him on a wander around the other equipment. He was really keen on the climbing frame and it got me thinking. It won't be long before he is running around this park climbing over the top of the frames and slides. This is what inspired my Tomorrow Gallery post.

Maybe tomorrow I'll tackle it

Actually, just let me at it

Mohawk Man

The theme is this weeks Gallery is Hair. I wanted to show you the progression of JC's infamous mohawk . . .

When JC was born he had the most perfect mohawk! I though it was so cute that when his hair started growing in at the sides, I was slightly disappointed!

It developed from the mohawk to a wee curl on the top as you can see in this photo.

Now it's getting really long but I can see the mohawk reappearing. I like to spike it up when he is in the bath, he's like a wee rock star in the making.

and of course to embarrass me, the 90's perm . . .

The Gallery - Education

This is my 6th year High School photo. I am 2nd from the right, first row. My hubby (Scuba Steve) is standing behind me (2nd row, first from the right. Ah, the good ole days! Yes we are high school sweethearts and I wonder how many of my class said 'it'll never last!' Eleven years under our belt (married for 2) and now our wee Grumpinator. I was head girl in sixth year, much to the disgust of some of my year group. I was a tearaway at school until I turned things around in 4th year. Some of the more 'conscientious' pupils were not amused that they were overlooked for me. I don't think I necessarily deserved it but there was no way in hell I was turning it down!

This week's Gallery theme is Trees. Here is my entry . . .

This is YaYo, my Dad's cat, taking in the spring sunshine on her favourite branch.

but I couldn't resist putting this one in because I love it! It is Steven and I on our wedding day surrounded by trees in the garden where we got married.
