1.
My wee Grumpinator is getting over the cold and seems to be on the mend. He is eating and sleeping well and has been very happy and settled this week.
2.
I am a school teacher and I have managed to negotiate a change in my hours when I go back to work in August. I will now be working 3 days a week. JC will be with a childminder for 2 days and his Gran for 1 day. I am looking forward to working again but I will miss him terribly.
3. I am grateful for my friends this week. I have been catching up with lots of my friends that I haven't seen for a few weeks or longer. I don't really live near many of my good friends so it can sometimes be difficult to see them regularly. It has been lovely to spend some time with them and catch up on their news.

Just read your comment on my blog and replied on my blog as follows:
"Claire I feel so silly. Just been on there, and there are so many similarities and they are £7 cheaper...!
I wonder who copied who, as they are both leather, both elasticated ankle, both applique designs (if that's the right word) etc... both suede soled...

Fab things, Your biy is soo cute in that photo. I work 2.5 days and it makes such a difference being part-time, must be a weight off yoru mind.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday. Thanks for joining in.

Michelle - I really thought hard about going back part time but I think I have made the right choice. It's only temporary for 2 years and then I can decide if I want to do it temporary.
ReplyDeleteLiska - I've heard the first week back is the worst but that you get used to it and it's not so bad. I'm about to reply on your post about the shoes.
Hey - that's great you managed to reduce your hours. It definately makes things much easier. The best way to do it is be super organised for work days i.e. pack baby bag the night before, get your clothes all organised night before etc, etc. I am actually super regimented about it, then everything goes to pot on non-work days lol. Glad the wee man is f=getting over his cold. Maya has one too, and it's horrible that you can't really help them that much. I use the Calpol menthol plug-in, it's great. Just think - you can enjoy the summer too x
ReplyDeleteWell done on negotiating some flexibility with your work. Is no mean feat! Glad to hear that Grumpinator is on the mend - nothing worse than a baby with a cold!
ReplyDeleteClaire, that's great news about working 3 days a week. I think 3 days is the ideal balance for a working mum (I work 4, so I would know!!)
ReplyDeleteAnd friends and cold-free bubbas - always grateful for those!!! x
Ysy for you going back to teaching, most of us go back to work when we have our first baby. Would rather an awesome teacher part time than a crappy one full time. My year 4 twins have a share teacher situation, a mummy of 2 young boys 2 days a week, a more mature & experienced teacher the other 3, they're both fresh, keen & fabulous. Good luck, love Posie
ReplyDeleteTeaching is a wonderfully flexible job for having children and how great is it that you have some family around to help out with the caring while you are at work. Lovely list of gratefulness :)
ReplyDelete3 days is the ideal. I was never able to negotiate that. I wish you all the best for your return. And how totally adorable is your Grumpinator!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments, I am really pleased about my new hours. It's only for 2 years then I can make my decision permanent so at least I will get to see what it's like financially. A balance is what I'm after.
ReplyDeleteI love your picture.
ReplyDeleteIt is tough to care for a poorly little one so well done you.
Well done also on taking charge of your life so well and hope it works out really well for you.
